It's that time of year again. The WBKO Tube Jocks are putting their skills to the test in donkey basketball.

Matt Stephens followed our athletes to Brownsville and has more in this Oct. 22 edition of Adventures in Kentucky."

"Each donkey has the capability of kicking with their rear legs," our coach said.

These were the last words of advice we received before saddling up on our donkeys.

A quick pregame pep talk and we were off.

At first there was a little trouble figuring out which side of the donkey to ride, but after that, it was a no trouble at all.

Except, staying these donkeys can sometimes be harder than it looks.

So on to the rules--you must be on your donkey to pass, shoot or defend.

I also took some advice from a young spectator

"I would get the littlest one so I could run real fast. I could beat them because I would run real fast," one little spectator explained.

Now it takes more than just donkeys and riders to play donkey ball--you also need a clean up crew.

Sometimes the donkeys leave some business behind and two guys were in the business of cleaning that up.

"We have our scooper and broom to sweep up the business of the donkeys. It's really teamwork," the clean-up crew assured.

Those two were eventually voted donkey ball MVP's.

It was soon halftime, and the donkey and the team would need a big second half to win the game.

But the Tube Jocks rallied back to hit the game winning shot.

We're happy to report, no one was injured while playing donkey basketball.

And the Tube Jock's even took second in the tournament.
