A pest is believed to be responsible for driving an area family out of their home. The Hart County was forced out of their home after an infestation made it impossible for them to stay indoors.

The Hornback family is dealing with what health officials have identified as Chicken Head Louse. A robin got into the family's home through the eaves and spread this louse. Chicken Head Louse is a pest of poultry, and they usually feed on the feathers of birds, but in this case it's attacking the Hornback family.

The pests have made their home completely unlivable. For ten days, Ricky and Antonia Hornback have been living in tents in their front yard.

Antonia Hornback has been to the doctor several times and has not found any effective way to get rid of this pest. A local radio station did a fundraiser to help pay to have the Hornback's home decontaminated, however the lice are still causing problems.

Now the tents and sleeping bags that were donated to the family are infested with critters. The Hornbacks tell us they are looking for any way to completely rid their home and vehicles of the Chicken Head Louse.
