Oct. 31 will mark the third straight day of meetings with a federal mediator in Lexington for representatives of Appalachian Regional Healthcare and striking nurses.
Nurses from Kentucky and West Virginia say they presented the company with their complete proposal on Oct. 29.
ARH issued a statement on Oct. 30 saying it appears that the strike is over money and not patient care issues.
In the days before the strike, ARH issued its "final offer" to the nurses, which included an initial two-percent pay raise and flexible schedules.
The nurses' lead negotiator says their issues remain safe staffing, scheduling, seniority and mandatory early retirement.
