State police say alcohol is a suspected factor in a crash that killed a Saint Charles man.
According to a police report, 37-year-old Franklin Bentley was northbound on U.S. 41 in Christian County.
Police say at 3 a.m. on Oct. 31, Bentley's vehicle left the road, came back on the road and then crossed both lanes of traffic.
His vehicle then hit a ditch, a tree and a utility pole, and came to rest upside down off the road.
Bentley was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was not wearing a seatbelt.
