A former Kentucky State Police trooper cuts a plea deal in a DUI crash that severely injured him and four members of a Grant County family.

Commonwealth Attorney Jim Crawford tells the Associated Press Larry Carey pleaded guilty to amended charges.

Crawford says Carey will also pay $700 a month to Edwin and Maria Gregory, the couple whose car he hit head-on while off duty.

Carey is scheduled for sentencing December 10 because he is also still recovering from injuries suffered in the crash.

As part of the deal, he will receive a ten-year prison sentence.
