Western Kentucky University's Board of Regents approved a contract that would keep President Gary Ransdell around through the year 2022.
On Nov. 3, the board met to discuss Ransdell's future with the university.
WKU has given its president a series of four-year contract extensions.
The extensions take effect if Ransdell receives good reviews for his performance since becoming the university's president in 1997.
If accepted, Ransdell will get a 15-percent increase to his salary in 2012 and another 10-percent increase in 2017.
