Kentucky Elects Steve Beshear as Governor

The Nov. 6 election has come to a close and the Commonwealth has a new leader.

Here are the unofficial totals for the governor's race.

Republican Ernie Fletcher received about 41-percent of the vote, making Democrat Steve Beshear Kentucky's new governor with almost 59-percent of the vote.

Democrat Steve Beshear is Kentucky's new governor and has been successful in unseating Kentucky's first GOP governor in more than 30 years.

    I'm glad that Steve Beshear won the race for governor, because it sounds like he is going to help Kentuckians more than Fletcher.

    I am so proud of Kentucky for electing the right man for the job. It was a much closer race than I thought it should be. But now KY can get on the road to recovery.

    I think kentucky is ready for a new leader. I also think kentucky is ready for casino's, and i think that the new gov will do what he thinks is best for kentucky..

    Yes....A change for Kentucky! I'm thrilled that we have new leadership and I hope the vision that Beshear has will help all of us in economic development and education. Congratulations Governor Beshear. Good Luck Governor Fletcher...we do wish you well.
