Veronica “Bonnie” Rothwell and her fiancé, Jim Hollis, had been dating for over three years and planned to marry last Friday, the day after Thanksgiving.
“She wanted a Caribbean cruise,” Jim Hollis said.
Now, all he has left is the memories and pictures.
“They can’t tell me enough words to explain what they’ve done.”
Rothwell leaves two boys without mothers, a fiancé with out his bride, and countless other family and friends.
Right now, Hollis doesn’t have any interest in speaking with Rothwell’s killer, but he does want one question answered.
“Don’t have any thoughts in what I’d actually say, but in the back of my mind is why?”
Family and friends continue to mourn the loss of Rothwell who was shot to death over two weeks ago.
Rothwell was gunned down while working at Abner’s Gift Shop in Cave City where she worked.
Hollis and Rothwell had just bought Abner’s Gift Shop and were planning on renovating the building. Hollis says he wasn’t planning on changing the name, but now he says he’ll more than likely rename it in memory of Bonnie.
Eighteen-year-old Nathan Wright of Louisville and two juveniles are charged with the murder and robbery of Bonnie Rothwell.
Wright, who is formerly of Horse Cave, is lodged in the Barren County Jail, and the two juveniles are lodged at the Warren County Detention Center.
