Former Bowling Green VFW Commander and Girlfriend Plead Not Guilty in Federal Court

The former commander of Bowling Green's VFW pleads not guilty for a third time in US District Court.

Donald Mudd and Martha Towe both pleaded not guilty this week to charges related to arson and an illegal gambling operation.

They face a number of other charges as well, such as mail fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy to defraud the IRS.

Prosecutors say Mudd started a fire that destroyed the VFW building four years ago to cover up his illegal gambling activities.

Their trial is set for Jan. 28 in federal court in Bowling Green.
