A group of area women are sending out a special message to those in the hospital. But the message isn't sent with an envelope or by email instead they are using the help of a teddy bear.
Betty Hunter has been sewing all her life. But lately she's been looking to use her talent to help someone else. That's where the idea comfort bears comes in. A group of about 20 area women gather once a month putting together teddy bears. The bears are then given to cancer patients in the hospital. The ladies have been asked to sell the bears and the sewing pattern but they've decided these bears will remain free to those in need. They say making a patient's stay in the hospital "beary" special is what it's all about.
