Residents Rescued From Houston High-Rise Fire

An early morning fire in Texas gives some people an unusual wake-up call.

Firefighters rescued a dozen elderly residents from the fifth floor of an eight-story Houston high-rise.

As flames and smoke poured out of windows, firefighters used trucks with ladders to evacuate the senior citizens.

The Bellerive Senior High Rise provides public housing for some of Houston's low-income elderly residents.
