The FBI is investigating the case of a pregnant woman tased by a police officer in suburban Dayton, Ohio.
A public safety official says the woman went to the police department in October, asking officers to take custody of her 1-year-old son.
An officer says she was totally uncooperative, then tried to leave with the child.
The officer says he feared letting her leave would put the child at risk, and felt he needed to detain her to get more information.
He adds that the woman wore a winter coat and did not tell the officer she was pregnant.
She was arrested for obstruction and resisting arrest.
The condition of the woman and her fetus are not known.
