Barren County native, Chad Lemons, says he was on his way back from a fishing trip, when he saw a cave he'd never noticed before.

When he went inside, he saw three human skulls that were exposed. After finding the skulls, Lemons contacted a local constable, who called the coroner and Kentucky State Police.

The Kentucky State Police Log states the skulls are believed to be from Native Americans. KSP says criminal activity is not suspected and one of the skulls was sent to the medical examiner.
