Girl Takes First Steps After Severing Feet On Ride

A milestone for the teen whose feet were severed on an amusement park ride at Kentucky Kingdom--she's taken her first steps.

According to the Courier Journal, 14-year-old Kaitlyn Lasitter began walking last week with the help of a prosthetic leg.

Kaitlyn was riding the Superman Tower of Power at the Louisville amusement park on June 21 when a cable broke, severing her feet.

The teen continues to battle pain, depression and the uncertainty of what will become of her reattached right foot.

Doctors have said they won't know for months if Kaitlyn's body will accept or reject it.

The family has a pending case against the theme park.
