Winter Weather Likely To Cause More Problems In Midwest and Northeast

Winter weather is likely to cause more problems in the Midwest and Northeast through the weekend.

Yet another storm system is expected to bring a mix of sleet and rain to coastal areas of the Northeast, with heavy snow falling inland.

The winter blast comes on the heels of a storm Dec. 13 that left parts of New England with a foot or more of snow.

Some schools in Massachusetts have declared another snow day Dec. 14.

Slick roadways caused thousands of fender benders.

In Connecticut alone, state police say they had 800 calls for service by late afternoon.

Earlier in the week, ice from the same system left hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses without power in the Midwest, particularly Oklahoma.

More bad weather on Dec. 14 could set back efforts to get the power back on.

This time, the forecast is not ice, but heavy snow.
