An audit reveals no criminal wrongdoing on behalf of Warren County Sheriff Jerry Peanuts Gaines.
Accusations of neglect and mismanagement surfaced after political opponent Alan Houchin released a lengthy packet of information in September.
A routine audit did not reveal any criminal wrongdoing and therefore Commonwealth's Attorney Steve Wilson says he sees no reason to take the issue before the Grand Jury.
Houchin submitted the packet to Kentucky State Police and Kentucky's Attorney General. Neither agency has begun an investigation at this time.
The Attorney General's office is conferring with the state auditors to see if the recently released audit addresses all of the allegations.
