After more than 50 years of service as Warren County's Clerk, Yvonne Guy has decided not to seek reelection. A record number of candidates campaigned to become Guy's successor, but of course only two survived the May primaries. In fact, these candidates have spent more in this race than the candidates for Sheriff, Jailer and many Magistrates.

The Warren County Clerk manages a staff of 28 and handles more than 20 million dollars a year. The clerk is responsible for the motor vehicle registration and licensing, as well as filing records such as mortgages and deeds. She is also responsible for conducting elections within the county. Both Owens and Runner have experience in the Clerk's office, just in different departments.
