A fatal accident in Ohio County the morning of Jan. 1. leaves a man and his wife dead.

The accident happened at the intersection of Kentucky 69 and Cedar Grove Church Road in Ohio County.

Kentucky State Police say around 11:00 a.m. James Moses and his wife paused at the stop sign at the intersection then made a left turn onto Highway 69.

According to a witness, Moses failed to yield the right-of-way to a semi driven by Todd Taylor.

Both vehicles went off the side of the road.

Moses and his wife were pronounced dead at the scene.

Taylor was sent to the Ohio County Hospital for treatment.

His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

The collision is still under investigation.
