Members of the ATF, Bowling Green Police, KSP, WKU Police, and the Warren County Sheriff's Department, combined to bring in five of the 14 drug felons they were after in today's sweep. This was the culmination of a four-month investigation.
Arrested so far are: Johnny Carrell Williams, Jr. for trafficking in marijuana, Lanza Dewayne Shirley for trafficking in meth, Arnold Lenar Bowman for trafficking in cocaine, Jeffrey Scott Freeman for trafficking in morphine and hydrocodone, and Troy Anthony Guthrie for trafficking in marijuana.
But this could be one of the last drug sweeps undertaken. Drug Task Force Director, Tommy Loving, says President Bush's 2006 budget eliminates the primary operating budget for task forces nationwide.
