Cigarette Tax Increase And Teens

Kentucky's cigarette tax is increasing from three cents to 27.

Health experts, like Jennifer Golden, from the Medical Center's Health and Wellness Center, say the increase alone will cost around $100 a year, and that doesn't include the price of the cigarettes.

Many teens say they don't think the increase will affect those who smoke because they won't realize how much extra it will cost them.

The cigarette tax won't take effect until June 1.
