Identity Theft Hits Soldier in Iraq

I am identity theft victim. it is hard to recover from identity theft. it ruins your credit and your life. However, police or FBI do not want to do anything. Someone keeps calling me from a "non-working " number offering me money from grant, or asking to pay, or offering money to consolidate dept, or telling me I won a prize. He called me again, I played along, asked to call me back after he e-mails me some information. I called police asking to trace the call where it come from and catch the thief. Nope police do not do that. I called FBI. Same answer. I feel police and FBI want this criminals to get away. Is here some benefit to police that or to banks that criminals get away with stealing money from innocent people? I feel frustrated because it seems that it could be so easy to catch - just trace my phone, and send police to get him. He is from Eastern time US. But nope it is too much trouble and this person will ruin some lifes of innocent victims who will give him their account.
That's it. What does it take for those paper tiger candidates to understand the problems American citizens are going through because they refuse to alienate the illegals? Teddy Kennedy has never explained what happened at Chappaquidick and wants to tell American for whom to vote? Like his word means something. We have relatives and friends in Europe and they laugh at us here in America wanting to give the most important position in our country, if not the world, to a first term Senator who started his campaign the day he arrived in the Senate. Our newspaper in endorsing him said they did so because of his youth and global image. Can you believe that one? Take a look at your son or daughter who traveled outside of the country once or twice, that qualifies them for President? Give all of us a break. We have had enough of the Democrats sinking the way to get the presidency and now this. Who is this man who stole one of our fighting heroes identity? Why hasn't this been told nation- wide?
John McCain states "He does not want to tell a U.S. soldiers that he has deported their spouse or mother". I guess he doesn't have a problem telling a U.S. soldier that his identity has been stolen by an illegal alien and his already stressed out spouse now has this problem to deal with.
Why didn't the company, apartment, electric, cell phone company, and etc. Check his social security number? His name obviously wouldn't match the name on the security card. This really scares me to think that these companies are not checking social security numbers. No wonder we face so much fraud! Thank You!
It's nice to see an army wife finally on tv! I find it intresting that illegal people would have the nerve to steal soldiers identitys. They're fighting for there lives out in Iraq, and there here trying to make fraud to there accounts! God bless the Marrero Family! I enjoyed the footage on Melissa Marrero's family. Just because I had it happen to me. And I extremely thankful you are airing something that will benefit us all. We all need to be reminded how identity theft still occurs here! My heart goes out to her family.. her poor husband fighting for his life!! Back in the states some illegal resident is using his information. This is not fair! But thank you again.
I did not know you guys could reach all the way out here. Thank you so much for making us aware of identity theft. Next time I hit the water surfing, I'll be sure to let my friends know. This is a serious matter. It's even sad to know people are stealing identitys from soldiers.
wow i heard this story all the way down here in Naples.. i didnt know how serious identity theft was..until i saw this footage..thank you for making me aware of this im going to check my credit report.
The vast majority of identity thefts occur on Hispanic-American citizens, merely because it is not logicla for an illegal alien from Mexico (the majority) to sport Jones, Smith or O'Hanihan. This is why it is just another media myth that Hispanic Americans are sympathetic to illegal aliens when they are more likely to be victimized than other Americans.
WOW! Thank you for posting this. My husband is also deployed and I will now be checking his report monthly. I know this much be an added stress for him. I hope this gets resolved. I am still shocked.
