Robert "Eddie" Shirley, 58, testified today, he never meant to shoot 30-year-old Alfred Victor Michael, killing him with one shot to the head January 4 of 2004.
Shirley said he considered Michael "an adopted son," but when Shirley returned home from Glasgow that night, he saw Michael grab his wife in a suggestive embrace. He then ran to get his 38-caliber revolver, because he thought Michael was attacking her. But Shirley says the shooting was an accident. The trial continues tomorrow in Warren Circuit Judge Steve Wilson's court.
