Investigators say Christopher Buccholz of Scottsville and his cousin were swimming across part of the lake at the Narrows Boat Ramp Sunday afternoon, when the 14-year-old started to drown in the 55 degree water. His cousin tried to save him, but couldn't hold his weight while swimming.
The teens' father, Shannon Buccholz, was unable to reach his son. The Barren County Rescue Squad found the boy's body underwater after more than an hour of searching. Christopher Buccholz was pronounced dead on the scene. Funeral arrangements are being made at Goad Funeral Home in Scottsville.
