An accident involving an Amish buggy in Barren County leaves a woman seriously injured.

The Barren County Sheriff's office says 20-year-old Delila Gingerich suffered a broken neck when her buggy was struck on Highway 1297.

The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 30.

Authorities say a pickup driven by Tabbatha Elmore came over a hill in the same direction of travel as the buggy, and struck it from behind.

Gingerich was taken to the University of Louisville hospital.

Her condition is not being released.

The driver of the buggy,16-year-old Ezra Yoder, was treated at TJ Samson hospital for minor injuries.
