Head Start of Southern Kentucky helps hundreds of children, especially those that are low-income or have disabilities, get a step up.
The full-day, five days a week program helps the kids prepare for kindergarten.
Tracy Haddix says the kids learn about colors, shapes, days of the week, numbers, and early writing skills.
Besides educational opportunities, the program also offers social interaction and teaches the kids to work with others.
