Lorie Owen, a senior at Monroe County High, lost one of her close friends to a car accident.

After his death, Owen decided to get emergency crews involved in a simulated head-on collision to show her students about the grim reality of accidents.

The crews demonstrated what happens from when dispatch first gets the call to when the injured are transported to the hospital.

The teens say this demonstration will make them think twice when they're out on the road.
