Western Kentucky University is claimed to be one of the fastest growing universities in the state.
With the continued growth, construction is up and coming all around the campus.
One construction site is for a new student housing apartment complex that's preparing to open in the fall.
The Registry says it has state-of-the-art technology, including a bio-metric system to keep residents safe. That means the residents will have to use their thumbprint to get into the gate.
With the apartment complex in the works, one area business owner hopes it will help his shop.
David dye has occupied dyes Barber Shop for the last 48 years, and says with hundreds of new tenants possibly moving in right across the street there will also be more traffic, but that's not always a bad thing.
He says with more traffic, more people will see his shop and possibly stop in for a cut.
