Investigators served search warrants on the Capitol offices of Governor Fletcher this afternoon.

The investigators from the attorney general's office are looking into allegations of improper political influence in state hiring and personnel practices.

Lieutenant Governor Steve Pence said the investigation should continue until the facts are known, but he said the administration has followed the rules in hiring and firing.

Attorney General Greg Stumbo said earlier in the day the investigation would mean compiling more documents.

Stumbo says the investigation thus far focuses on hiring at the Transportation Cabinet.
