A team of students from the University of Kentucky are trying to build a mobile home with a twist.

The students are competing against 19 other schools to construct a mobile home that runs solely on solar energy.

The task is part of next year's Solar Decathlon, a prestigious contest sponsored by the US Department of Energy.

The university says hundreds of students from across the campus could be involved in the project.

The house will be judged in ten areas, including architecture, market viability, hot water and comfort.

The finished product will be taken to Washington DC in the fall of 2009, where it will judged against submissions from other schools.
