A truck loaded with dirt catches fire in Bowling Green, causing delays to the morning commute.
Major Doug Hawkins says the driver of the semi first heard a sound, then saw smoke while traveling at the Three Springs Road intersection of Scottsville Road.
It was first reported that the truck turned over and exploded, but Hawkins says the driver was able to pull over and escape before the truck caught fire.
Sergeant Brett Hightower says there are no injuries and only the semi was involved.
The dilemma occurred at 7:30 this morning, shutting down Scottsville Road for a short time.
Bowling Green's main thoroughbred has since been reopened.
