The Pentagon delivers the bad news Friday morning. It wants to shut down some 150 bases and facilities as part of a major military realignment.
The government says it will save money, but others say it will cost too many jobs.
Kentucky could lose more than 5,000 military jobs under the Pentagon's recommended base closures.
Fort Knox would take the biggest hit and lose more than 4,800 military jobs, and Fort Campbell would lose 360.
The list also included several small facilities closing in the state.
