New allegations within Kentucky state government, involve alleged racial bias.

Several legislators held a news conference to blast minority hiring practices in the Transportation Cabinet.

A group of Democratic Legislators charged that 317 Merit employees were hired in 2004 in the transportation cabinet, and ninety-eight per cent of them were white.

Meanwhile, a special Grand Jury will be looking into charges that some people were hired in Merit system jobs based on political connections and not merit, as required by law.

Governor Ernie Fletcher will also speak out about the investigation.
