Mourning for the victims of last week's deadly shootings at Northern Illinois University continues in the Chicago area.

The family of 20-year-old sophomore Dan Parmenter, held services on Feb. 20 at Taylor Ridge Methodist Church.

He was buried at Chapel Grove Cemetery later in the day.

Visitation was held for 32-year-old Juliana Gehant.

The oldest victim, Gehant had served in the Army and Army Reserves for 12 years, before enrolling at NIU.

"(It's a) terrible loss," said Bernard Bodner, a friend of Gehant.

"And it's going to really shake this town up. You know, we never thought something like this would come here to us, but here it is."

All of the victims will be remembered on Feb. 21, when NIU officials call for five minutes of silence at 3:06 p.m., exactly one week after the deadly shootings.
