A marine from Louisville is dead after an attack in Iraq.
Twenty-four-year-old Sergeant David Wimberg had recently called home to say he was OK after his military unit was hit, but his family has now received the devastating news he was killed Wednesday near the Iraqi-Syrian border.
Wimberg graduated from Trinity High School in Louisville in 1999.
A family spokesperson says he was shot by enemy fire in Iraq.
