It's a big birthday for perhaps the most famous children's author of the 20th century.

Dr. Seuss would have turned 104 years old.

He died in 1991.

His actual birthday was on Mar. 2, but schools across the country celebrated today with "Read Across America" day.

At North Warren Elementary, students dressed as Seuss characters and made Seuss-themed cakes.

All to honor the author of classics like The Cat in the Hat and One Fish, Two Fish.

The winner of the cake-decorating contest won two tickets to see the movie, "Horton Hears a Who."
