For many people owning a home is their dream, Saturday afternoon the city of Bowling Green’s Department for Housing and Community Development held a festival so people could learn how make that dream become a reality.
“I think it would be great, I always thought about owning my house.”
Bridgette Prioletti was just one of many who came out to learn how to own her own house.
Around 30 exhibits were on display informing people of a variety of things like homeowners insurance, small house repairs and credit reports.
Carol McClure of Housing and Community Development says the festival is targeted for first time homebuyers and says it’s important for people to know what to look out for.
This was the first year for the Affordable Housing Festival but workers say this event will be annual and will be held in June in honor of National Homeownership month.
