Army Divorce Rate

The army's divorce rate is rising as steadily as the rate of U.S. casualties in Iraq.

Officials say the army's divorce rate has soared in the past three years. The reason could be the longer and more frequent war zone deployments are placing extra strain on couples.

Between 2001 and 2004 divorces among active-duty army officers and enlisted personnel nearly doubled. Fort Campbell recently threw a marriage retreat for vets and their wives at a hotel in Nashville.
