Louisville police say a man shot and killed by police and sheriff's deputies after a bank robbery had two replica guns, neither of which could fire bullets.

The Jefferson County coroner's office identified 30-year-old Bryan Kessinger of Louisville on the morning of March 11.

Deputy coroner Rita Taylor says Kessinger died at the scene of multiple gunshot wounds.

Louisville police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley said officers found the realistic-looking fake guns along with money, a bandanna and dark clothing in Kessinger's car on March 10.

Six Louisville police officers and three Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies were placed on paid administrative leave after shooting the man following a report of a bank robbery around noon on March 10.

Smiley said the man waved a gun at police before being shot.
