Authorities say alcohol may have played a part in an accident that claimed the life of a Butler County high school football player.
The Butler County Sheriff's Office says 16-year-old Alex Foster was killed early Tuesday morning on Flint Springs Road north of Morgantown.
Foster's vehicle dropped off the shoulder of the road causing him to overcorrect and skid 125 feet before striking an earth embankment.
The accident report says the vehicle flipped several times ejecting Foster and his passenger Michael Johnson.
Foster was pronounced dead at the scene.
Johnson told authorities the two had been drinking but there was no alcohol located in or around the vehicle.
