Tennessee Fugitives Caught

The hunt for two Tennessee fugitives came to an end with their capture at a motel in Columbus, Ohio.

Law enforcement officials say George Hyatte and his wife Jennifer were found at a Best Value Inn in Columbus and were arrested without incident.

Jennifer Hyatte was injured, but officials said last night they did not know how badly she was hurt.

The search for the two started in Tennessee on Tuesday, when officials say Jennifer Hyatte shot a corrections officer in Kingston, Tennessee as part of a plot to free her husband from prison.

A spokesman for U-S Marshals say the couple was tracked to an Econo Lodge in Erlanger, Kentucky, where a van they used in the getaway was found.

A SWAT team entered the room, but the two were not there.

George Hyatte was being taken from a Tennessee courthouse near Knoxville after a hearing when his wife is alleged to have shot and killed a prison guard escorting her husband.

Both now await extradition to Tennessee, where they face first-degree murder charges.
