A former WBKO Hometown Hero will soon be taking on a new challenge as he transitions from lawyer, to a job with Homeland Security.

You may remember Chris McKinney, a Bowling Green soldier who once served in Afghanistan and Iraq.

McKinney has had many jobs over the year, from FBI agent, volunteer firefighter, to even Kentucky's 2007 Young Lawyer of the Year.

But now, he is leaving the law firm English, Lucas, Priest, & Owsley where has worked for the last four years to work for Homeland Security.

"Having served in the government for a number of years, also being in the military now for over 20 years, it is a good move for me and my family, but we're very saddened to be leaving so many dear friends," Chris McKinney said.

Friday, March 14 was McKinney's last day on the job at English, Lucas, Priest, & Owsley.
