Alex Scott is the eight year-old girl who raised a million dollars for pediatric research simply by selling lemonade. Alex lost her battle with cancer last year, but her memory has lived on throughout the country.

This weekend in Bowling gathered at lemonade stands across town to carry on a tradition that Alex Scott had started.
Over twenty stands were set up around town to raise money for pediatric cancer research.

Eleven year-old Riley Miller got the idea to set up the stands...after seeing Alex Scott on Oprah and hearing about her success.

"I want the kids to be cancer-free...and this is a fun way to do it too and it can help research cancer."

The lemonade stands raised more than $14,500 for pediatric cancer research. According to Barry Monroe...who's eleven year-old son was recently cured of Berket's Leukemia, events such as the lemonade stand really do help.

"Funds being raised do make a difference in childrens lives including my son's life"
