Drivers in Kentucky will soon be showing their spirit while retiring their old license plates.
Governor Ernie Fletcher and officials from the Transportation Cabinet and Department of Tourism displayed the new "Unbridled Spirit" license plate today.
These license plates will replace the current "smiley face" plates on all regular passenger vehicles.
Beginning January 1, 2006 all drivers who renew their vehicle registration will receive the new license plate.
By the end of 2006, all regular passenger vehicle plates will carry the new Unbridled logo.
Approximately two million plates will be produced at a cost of three-point five million dollars.
