Sandy Harper is a Bowling Green native, who's lived outside New Orleans for the last eight years.

She said she, her fiancée, and members of his family tried to escape the hurricane, but all the exits were blocked by other cars.

When the storm came in, she says they had to turn back.

Sandy says: "It's the most devastating thing; it's like watching a movie, the worst movie you could watch because we'll never be able to erase those pictures that we saw as we were leaving."

Sandy made it to her mother's house in Bowling Green late last night.

She says she's lost everything, except the three bags of clothes and two picture albums she was able to save.
