Flames ripped through a Bowling Green home early Saturday morning; fire investigators say it was intentionally set.

“It's very spooky, very scary, very surreal."

It’s what one neighbor reflected on as she surveyed the damage after an early morning fire that destroyed a home at 1937 Sandra Street in Bowling Green.

"It's worse by the light of day because you could see how huge it was."

Neighbors coming home around around 2:30a.m.say they saw it all.

"I called the fire department and came over to see if everyone was all right. I helped the lady next door get out," neighbor Matt Abney said.

More than a dozen Bowling Green firefighters responded to the scene. Investigators have determined the fire was intentionally set but aren’t releasing much information, but say whoever is responsible will be prosecuted.

While investigators continue to look for clues, resident’s say they’re taking extra precautions until whoever is responsible is behind bars.

"It makes me a little uneasy wonder what's really going on here."

Witnesses say no one was in the house at the time of the fire.

If you know anything about this fire you’re urged to call the Bowling Green Fire Department at (270) 393-3702.
