Parents of soon-to-be kindergartners at Natcher Elementary gathered to prepare their children for the first day of school.
The principal, Stephanie Martin, says, "They do everything from the routine in their classrooms, from choosing their lockers, getting to know their teachers."
The kids also had the chance to learn about bus safety from Buster the Bus, a motorized version of the real thing.
After a safety lesson from Buster, the kids got to take a short ride.
Rebecca Taylor, a parent says, "I wanted him to be more comfortable with the first day, riding the bus, getting off the bus."
While on the bus, they learned the rules and not to be scared of the ride.
Martin says, "All of these kids when they get to ride the bus, they get to see what the rules were and the driver made them feel at ease."
Besides preparing the kids for the first day of school, this event also helped put the parents minds at ease.
