Newborns Switched at Birth in Illinois Hospital

After I had my son, I was on heavy pain medicine, and the first day i did not know if I was coming or going, when my son was born, I seen him for a total of five seconds before they carried him out to be cleaned up, etc. The hospital should know better, this is crazy. How come the babies were not banded as soon as they came out or right afterwards? I don't blame the parents for suing the hospital. Because of this mistake, they lost precious time with their own sons. How can they get that time back?
How do you not know your own baby? These babies hardly even look alike ... the mistake is on the parents also ... how could they in good conscience sue anyone over this...? I have given birth to 7 babies ... if I had been given the wrong baby I would surely know even if it had been my first... Today there is a total lack of responsibility everywhere you turn!!
I applaud those who are standing up against cruelty to animals. But, before we go making it a felony for the first offense charge, why don't we look at the laws involving domestic violence. It takes three convictions of Assault 4th in five years before one is charged with a felony.
