When Elizabethtown’s Chamber of Commerce President, Edith Dupin heard about the movie she says she could hardly believe the news.
"At first I thought someone was playing a joke on me."
Just up I-65 you’ll pass through Elizabethtown. The city has been receiving national recognition because a movie now bears its name.
The town of about 23,000 has been rolling out the red carpet. Elizabethtown is directed by Cameron Crowe and stars Orlando Bloom, Kirsten Dunst and 2 seven-year-old boys from Bowling Green.
The movie includes scenes from the Elizabethtown area and includes some residents who played extras during the filming.
Dupin says the town has loved the national attention and hopes all this publicity will bring more people to the area.
The movie opens nationwide this Friday.
