Kentucky Sex Offenders

Kentucky is on the cutting edge of keeping you safe from sexual predators, and your Lt. Gov. Steve Pence wants to take it a step further.

Gov. Pence says Kentucky should examine castration, for sex offenders who do not respond to treatment. He says he's generally an advocate of treatment, but in the case of repeat offenders and those for whom treatment has proved unsuccessful, he says surgical or chemical castration should be considered.

Kentucky is one of 23 states to join the National Sex Offender Public Registry. The registry allows you to look up anyone in any of the participating states to see where registered sex offenders live.

Kentucky is one of three states that reports data to the National registry in real time. There are more than half-a-million registered sex offenders nationwide.
