Fletcher on Indictments

The probe into allegations of illegal state hiring practices will soon gain access to the Governor's office computer server.

Investigators may also get to look at files from 250 government e-mail accounts.

The "Lexington Herald-Leader" reports a deal being worked out between the Attorney General's office and defense lawyers that would open two remaining treasure troves of evidence.

During a stop in south central Kentucky this morning the Governor maintained Stumbo's political motivation and said the Attorney General should be focused on drugs and the Medicaid system.

The e-mails from the Governor's top staff are one source of information. Investigators say it could provide more details about how Fletcher's Administration managed personnel decisions and whether top officials broke the law.

The e-mails have been locked up for two months in Franklin County Circuit Court.
